In its new public service contract, STIB is renewing its objective of reducing its energy consumption by 8.5% over the period 2019-2023, at constant activity. STIB's energy consumption includes all the energy vectors (gas, electricity, diesel) used for all its activities (rolling stock and infrastructure).

Between 2018 and 2020, STIB's energy performance increased by 7.4%.
