In 2020, STIB's operating expenses amounted to € 763 million. On the one hand, following the pandemic, STIB had to deal with additional expenses related to the purchase and distribution of sanitary material (gels, masks, gloves, etc.) amounting to € 4 million. On the other hand, the expenditure generated by the intensification of the cleaning and disinfection of vehicles and infrastructures amounted to € 23 million.
