Every year, Mobility Week and Car-Free Sunday are an opportunity for the public to go behind the scenes of a STIB depot. In 2020, the health situation forced the public transport company to reinvent itself.

While public transport is free and has a high service frequency on Car-Free Sunday, STIB had to be creative to find an alternative to its traditional open day. It innovated by proposing an interactive virtual visit of the Haren site.

The public could access a 360° virtual tour of the Haren depot via a link on the STIB website. Throughout the ten-minute visit, the public discovered the different places and workshops, almost as if they were there. The visit was also fun, as Internet users had the opportunity to participate in a game to win gifts, available on Stibstore, STIB's online shop.
