Freshening up the old trains

In November, STIB completely redecorated the interior of the old metro trains with images of 10 emblematic places in Brussels. This is a fresh new look for these vehicles, the oldest of which date back to the inauguration of the metro over 40 years ago. Thanks to this 360° photo display, travellers can follow a tourist route through Brussels, including the Grand Place and Place Poelaert, without leaving their seats. This rejuvenation involved a total of 20 trains and was the result of a partnership between Visit Brussels and STIB. This was a novel way for the Brussels Regional Tourist Office to promote the capital and for STIB to remind people that these emblematic places are accessible by public transport.
